Stewardship and Development
Roman Catholic Diocese of Providence
The Stewardship and Development Office is responsible for the implementation of the Bishop's Pastoral Letter, "Stewardship: A Disciples Response," conducting all diocesan level development issues. The office staffs and directs the Catholic Charity Appeal, the Catholic Foundation of Rhode Island, the Anchor of Hope Fund, and Parish Stewardship.
The Catholic Charity Appeal supports numerous ministries and programs of the Diocese of Providence which provide social, educational and spiritual support to thousands of Rhode Islanders each year regardless of race, creed or background.
The ministries supported by the annual Appeal include social service ministries providing direct support to the poor, the hungry and homeless, emergency rent and medical aid, and community advocacy for needs in the community.
The mission of the Catholic Foundation of Rhode Island is to procure and build endowment funds while serving as a permanent organization for the management and administration of funds given to the Diocese of Providence. The Foundation assists individuals and organizations with responsible Christian stewardship for the preservation and promotion of the Roman Catholic Church in Rhode Island.
As Catholics, we are encouraged to share what we have with others, to respect our neighbors as ourselves and to assist those less fortunate. By sharing of ourselves and helping those around us, we are, in essence, practicing Christian stewardship.
Help provide a quality Catholic education to the economically disadvantaged children of Rhode Island and cultivate the intellect, self-confidence, and faith of students who can’t afford a Catholic education.
